Bojan Jovanovic

Founder/owner | Head Coach

Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, Bojan has dedicated most of his life to the sport of fencing. He began at the age of six and quickly developed a deep passion for it that continues to this day. Throughout his career, Bojan has amassed numerous medals and accolades. By the age of thirty, he had become the most decorated athlete in Croatian fencing history, earning a spot in the 2012 London Olympics as the first Croatian fencer to achieve this milestone. Notably, in 2010, Bojan won the World Cup and secured fifth place at the European Championships the following year.

In 2013, Bojan received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Croatian Olympic Committee in recognition of his efforts to promote and advance fencing in Croatia and the surrounding region.

Since moving to the United States, Bojan's students have participated in major domestic and international tournaments, consistently earning top honors. He served as the foil coach at MIT for three seasons, leading the team to three consecutive NCAA finals and earning an All-American award. 

In 2010, Bojan earned his Foil Coaching degree from the Italian Fencing Federation in Rome and Formia, Italy, as well as a Coaching degree from the International Fencing Federation (F.I.E.), making him one of the few coaches in the U.S. with these credentials. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics.

Jed Dupree

Lead Foil Coach

Jed Dupree joined Jovanovic Fencing Club in 2025 as the Lead Foil Coach. Born in 1979 in Hanover, New Hampshire, he currently serves as the Men's and Women's Foil Coach at Harvard University, returning in 2023 after previously coaching there from 2013-2017. He is also an Assistant Coach for the Women's Foil Canadian National Team, helping them achieve a country-best fourth-place finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

As a competitor, Dupree was a four-time All-American at Columbia University, winning the NCAA Men's Foil Championship in 2001. He earned the Connie S. Maniatty Award as Columbia's outstanding senior male student-athlete. After graduation, he won Division I national championships in 2002 and 2005, earned a team gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games, and competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics, helping the U.S. team secure fourth place.

Dupree began coaching in 2007 after seven years on the US Men's Foil National Team. He coached at Empire United Fencing, leading the U.S. Men's Foil team to consecutive junior world championship gold medals (2011-2012) and serving as the 2012 US Olympic Foil Coach. At Harvard, he helped the team earn numerous accolades, including coaching 29 student-athletes to All-America honors and Adrienne Jarocki to two NCAA women's saber championships. Between Harvard stints, he directed the high-performance foil program at Durkan Fencing Academy (2017-2019).

His notable students include Race Imboden, whom he coached from age 14 to a world ranking of fourth and the 2012 Olympics; Jackie Dubrovich, who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and made the 2019 Women's Foil World Team; Brian Kaneshige, who placed second at the 2019 Men's Foil National Championships; and Geoffrey Tourette, who won team gold at the 2017 Junior World Championships. Olympian Miles Chamley-Watson also trained under Dupree's guidance.
